Bi Luo Chun green tea from Mt. Dongting. Mt.Dongting stands by the Tai hu Lake beside Suzhou of Jiangsu Province.Mt,Dongting has been a famous tea producing place since the Tang Dynasty(618-907). In the Song Dyansty(960-1279), the Biluochun tea had been made a tribute tea.Emperor Kang Xi in the Qing Dynasty(1644-1911) once paid a visit to the Taihu Lake and was offered the Biluochun tea. He liked it very much,but regarded the name, Scaring Aroma,as inappropriate. As the tea had a green color (Bi in Chinese) and a spiral shape (Luo in Chinese) and was picked in spring(Chun in Chinese), the Emperor named is Biluochun.
The Biluochun Tea should be picked early as tender buds and leaves and sorted out cleanly. It is picked from March 18 to the end of Grain Rain each year.Medium green delicately hand-rolled leaves. Thirst quenching and refreshing liquid with notes of cooked vegetable broth and fresh cut grass.
